For those ready for hands-on mentorship, From Concept to Collective offers a hybrid course and designer-in-training track where you’ll learn directly from Alicia Hensley, complete real assignments, and earn the opportunity to join the Lake Hazel Design Collective. Joining the Lake Hazel Design Collective starts with an Application, where you’ll submit your portfolio, experience summary, design style preferences, and availability—plus optional social links. After an Initial Review, we’ll reach out if your aesthetic and skillset align with our brand. Next is an Interview & Brand Alignment Call with Alicia or a senior team member to discuss your design process, past projects, and how our revenue share and workflow operate. If selected, you’ll receive an Offer & Agreement that includes your subcontractor contract, NDA, revenue details, and brand standards guide. Once signed, you’ll move into Onboarding & Training, gaining access to our templates, systems, and a short setup session to learn our tools. Your First Project Assignment will either be a smaller solo project or support on a larger one to learn our process. From there, you’ll receive Ongoing Support through monthly team meetings, continued mentorship, and opportunities to build your portfolio under the Lake Hazel brand.
